This was a Mess...

I know, Michael Chrichton does not deal in highly scientifically possible scenarios. But the Science in his Science Fiction always felt if not likely but remotely believable. This is not the case with Micro... Everything is so ludicrously impossible, it makes me flinch whenever I read the "explanations" of how the shrinking technology works (strong magnetic fields, duh!!!). But even this I could have ignored, when the plot wasn't also so predictable and... bad.
It is just a series of high intensity action scenes. The people involved in it are basically not important. Most of them won't be long with you anyway. You know the baddie from basically page 10 or so and there will not be any mind-blowing reveals. Its just survival situation after survival situation. This is somewhat entertaining but also becomes tiring after a while. Most plot "twists" are very much predictable.
I will give this book some credit for the descriptions of insect life. That was kinda cool. But still, this can't save this. I was considering giving this only 1 star, but the high density of action did make it attention-grabbing enough so that I did finish it in the end...
